Next-Generation Hematology Platform Streamlines High-Complexity Lab Workflows

Sysmex America (Chicago, IL, USA) has introduced the next generation XR-Series, centered on the XR-10 Automated Hematology Module for high-complexity laboratories. More...

The platform builds on the widely used XN-Series by adding higher throughput and expanded analytics while preserving a familiar user interface. Its modular design supports configurations that scale from core analyzers to integrated, high-volume solutions.

The XR-Series incorporates updates to the white blood cell (WBC) differential reagent and introduces three-dimensional scattergram visualization. In combination with an optional WPC channel on the XR-20 Automated Hematology Module, these features are designed to support result interpretation and improve flagging accuracy. The revised reagent formulation allows greater separation of cell clusters in the WDF scattergram without sacrificing accurate WBC differential flagging, aiming to increase confidence in reported results.

For existing hematology users, the transition is intended to be seamless because the XR-Series retains the operating conventions of the XN-Series and preserves its modularity. For high-volume testing, the XR-9000 configuration integrates with complementary products to automate routine steps and promote smoother workflows across the laboratory. The system is supported by Sysmex America’s service and support teams to help maintain consistent performance.

Overall, the solution is designed to help busy laboratories deliver rapid, dependable results while maintaining efficient operations. It emphasizes speed, consistency, and dependable performance in high-complexity environments, while providing analytical enhancements that support interpretive certainty.

"The XR-Series reflects our commitment to helping laboratories work smarter without disrupting the workflows they depend on," said Dan Zortman, CEO of Sysmex America. "By combining proven reliability, advanced analytics and the support of our award-winning service teams, the XR-Series analyzers help laboratories deliver the accuracy and precision clinicians rely on for outstanding patient care."
