The global urinalysis market is projected to grow from USD 4.88 billion in 2026 to USD 7.16 billion by 2031, at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 8.0%. This growth is being driven by the rising prevalence of urinary tract infections, diabetes, kidney and liver diseases, and age-related disorders, along with increasing demand for point-of-care (POC) testing.

These are the latest findings of MarketsandMarkets (Delray Beach, FL, USA), a market research firm.

The growing need for faster, more standardized urine testing is supporting adoption of advanced urinalysis analyzers, test strips, reagents, and other diagnostic products. Technological advances such as automated urine analyzers, digital microscopy and advanced biochemical testing have improved the speed, accuracy, and efficiency of urinalysis. Automated and integrated urine analysis systems are also helping streamline sample processing, reduce manual intervention, improve workflow management, and increase laboratory throughput in high-volume testing environments.

The urinalysis market has also seen sustained strategic investment, product launches, and technology development, driven by rising testing volumes and growing demand for automation. Key developments in recent years include Siemens Healthineers AG’s December 2023 launch of the Atellica UAS 60 Analyzer, a compact instrument for automated urine sediment analysis designed to provide a space-efficient, high-throughput solution. 

More recently, Danaher Corporation launched the DxU 1800 System in July 2026, a fully automated urinalysis solution that combines a new urine chemistry analyzer and consumables with microscopy technology. The system is designed to standardize urine testing, increase throughput, reduce manual intervention, and help laboratories manage rising diagnostic volumes. These developments underscore the industry’s focus on automation, integrated workflows, and technologies that improve laboratory efficiency and clinical decision-making.

Based on product, the consumables segment held the largest share of the global urinalysis market in 2025, accounting for 72.5% of revenue. This segment includes pregnancy and fertility kits, dipsticks, reagents, and disposables that are frequently replaced and widely used in routine testing. Continuous demand across hospitals, diagnostic laboratories, clinics, and home care settings is expected to support the segment’s leading position, even as instruments such as automated and integrated urine analyzers represent important capital investments for laboratories.

Based on test type, the pregnancy and fertility tests segment accounted for the largest market share in 2025 at 42.8%. Growth in this segment is supported by increasing awareness of reproductive health and family planning, particularly in developing countries, as well as the availability of convenient home-based testing options that provide rapid results. Geographically, North America held the largest share of the urinalysis market in 2025, while Asia Pacific is expected to register the fastest growth during the forecast period.
