Becton, Dickinson and Company (BD Franklin Lakes, NJ, USA) participated and shared insights with cutting-edge technology solutions enhancing the patient care journey at this year’s Arab Health and MEDLAB 2022 held at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

BD presented its latest innovations and solutions focused on patient safety to support clinicians’ efforts to move from piecemeal interventions to a total systems approach for safety at two of the region’s leading medical technology events. At Arab Health 2022, the company demonstrated the full potential of its innovations through the collaboration of its Medical segment with Medication Management Systems and Medication Delivery Systems, and the BD Interventional segment. BD displayed a series of solutions that focused on the prevention of potential medication errors and Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAIs) alongside innovations that empower medical professionals to perform timely, accurate and appropriate diagnostics practices to support effective decision making in providing the safest and most effective care possible in the region.

Additionally, at MEDLAB 2022, the company’s Lifesciences segment showcased integrated diagnostic solutions and services, including safe and integrated specimen collection, specimen diagnosis and data management for better patient comfort. The company also presented solutions that incorporate artificial intelligence to drive laboratory efficiency with customized microbiology automation platforms and dedicated value-added services. Additionally, experts from BD hosted several sessions that addressed the challenges in patient and healthcare worker safety in the post pandemic world. They also highlighted the best practices and demonstrated a variety of services and solutions to help equip healthcare providers in the region with the safe tools leading to better medication management decisions and patient treatment outcomes.

“The pandemic put the healthcare sector to the test in terms of stability and preparedness, demonstrating the need for healthcare providers to adopt advanced technology to meet the growing needs of patients,” said Maher Elhassan, Vice President and General Manager, BD Middle East, North Africa, and Turkey. “Avenues like Arab Health and Medlab give us an invaluable opportunity to raise awareness while facilitating the necessary impetus to our movement of securing and improving the patient care journey for both medical professionals and patients alike. Now more than ever, is the time for organizations and medical institutions to collaborate and achieve greater milestones in patient safety and BD will do everything in its capacity to provide best-in-class MedTech products and services, as we pursue our purpose of advancing the world of health.”
