A new range of lyophilised quality controls ensures longer shelf life and stability, resulting in greater continuity of lot supply. Other advantages of the new quality controls include more convenient storage at 2 °C - 8 °C and easier transportation.

The quality control sera are manufactured by Randox Laboratories (Crumlin, UK). Quality control guarantees good performance and ensures that results are of high quality and reliability. The company's Acusera range of quality controls currently covers over 290 parameters and is set to expand with the introduction of several new quality controls.

The new quality controls include coagulation, maternal screening, clinical chemistry, immunoassays, tumor markers, HbA1c, and thalassemia. Randox quality controls are true third party controls in that they are not designed or optimized for use with a specific manufacturer's instrument, calibrator, or reagent.

In addition to the extensive range of quality control materials Randox provides 24/7 an internet driven peer-group reporting system and RIQAS, an external quality assurance scheme providing customers with 15 external quality assessment (EQA) programs.

Randox develops, manufactures, and markets clinical diagnostic products including the Biochip Array Technology, clinical chemistry analyzers and reagents, quality controls, and EQA, as well as a complete life science range.
