The world's largest company solely dedicated to clinical diagnostics, Dade Behring (Deerfield, IL, USA), announced that it has received the 2004 Business Development Strategy Award for the in vitro diagnostics (IVD) marketplace in Asia and Japan.

The award was received from Frost & Sullivan (Palo Alto, CA, USA), an international consulting firm that presents the award each year to the company that has demonstrated the highest level of excellence in business development within its industry. Based on predetermined analysis of new segments, the number of new customers, and commitment to business expansion, Dade Behring has been ranked number one in the industry.

"Dade Behring has done an exceptional job in the Japanese, Chinese, and Indian markets in achieving a very high level of customer satisfaction through their customer-centered product development,” said Mr. Raghavendra Chitta, a research analyst at Frost & Sullivan. "Innovation and sound business management are the cornerstones of their strategy and their success in Asia Pacific and Japan, making this company an ideal recipient of our strategy award for leadership.”

The award recognizes the company's ability to best perceive consumer needs, develop products and/or services that meet user needs, successfully introduce products or services to the industry, and identify new market segments to expand the existing customer base.

"Through dedication and a passionate commitment to addressing our customers' real needs, Dade Behring works to provide broad-based solutions to the challenges our customers face on a day-to-day basis,” said Jean-Luc Devleeschauwer, regional vice president, Asia Pacific/Japan, Dade Behring. "This award confirms that our high
standards have built trust and loyalty among our customers and have made us ‘people you can count on, with solutions you need.'”
