Molecular microbiology was added to the bioanalytical and biomarker offerings of a lab service company.

The integration of molecular microbiology with bioanalytical, biomarker, and central lab services and subsequent investment has broadened the molecular offering available to customers of the service company.

Quotient Bioresearch (Cambridgeshire, UK) has expanded its molecular biology service offering. Customers can now receive custom solutions for chemistry, metabolism, and clinical issues. This will help customers through regulatory processes so that they can commercialize their products.

The company's real time polymerase chain reaction (RT PCR) supports screening of subjects and aids pharmacogenomic stratification of subjects prior to clinical trial enrolment. Quotient has adopted the ViiA7, a 384-well format from Life Technologies.

The new ViiA 7 system is a 7th generation RT PCR system that enables quantitive (q) PCR through flexibility, performance, integrated TaqMan assay content, and other advanced features.

Using mass spectrometry and immunochemistry technologies, microbiology services, central lab services, and now high-throughput Real-Time PCR instrumentation, Quotient’s team can give assistance to companies working with small molecules, biopharmaceuticals, antimicrobials, and molecular biology.
