A new high performance, high value microplate reader is now available for biotech and life science research laboratories.

The BioTek Instruments, Inc. More...
(Winooski, VT, USA) Eon Microplate Spectrophotometer has continuous wavelength selection from 200 nm to 999 nm, selectable in one-nanometer increments. Eon reads six- to 384-well microplate formats, and offers an optional cuvette port.

The instrument boasts an extended incubation option to 65 degrees Celsius. Eon comes with the advanced Gen5 v 2.0 software package and is compatible with Take3 Micro-Volume plates for two µL measurements.

The Take3 Multi-Volume Plate was designed to allow the quick and easy processing of up to 16 two-microliter sample measurements. The very short path length of the two-microliter sampling area abolishes the need for diluting concentrated sample solutions. In addition, the Take3 plate provides two locations for BioTek’s patented BioCells, as well as a location for a standard cuvette, thus providing three methods of measurement from very low volumes to traditional cuvette volumes.

Linear, orbital, and double orbital shake modes are customizable for easy assay optimization, and the instrument can function in walk-away automation mode when paired with BioTek's BioStack Microplate Stacker or third-party robotics.

Eon is able to read 96 wells in only 8 seconds and 384 wells in 12 seconds.
