The Association for Diagnostics & Laboratory Medicine (ADLM, Washington, DC, USA) is hosting the ADLM 2024 Clinical Lab Expo (formerly AACC Annual Scientific Meeting & Clinical Lab Expo) in Chicago from July 28 – August 1, 2024, showcasing breakthrough innovations that are shaping the future of clinical testing.

ADLM 2024 Clinical Lab Expo is the premier global laboratory medicine exposition and the place to learn about the breakthrough innovations shaping the future of clinical testing and patient care. Dedicated to achieving better health through laboratory medicine, ADLM brings together more than 70,000 clinical laboratory professionals, physicians, research scientists, and business leaders from around the world focused on clinical chemistry, molecular diagnostics, mass spectrometry, translational medicine, lab management, and other areas of progressing laboratory science. This year, ADLM’s Clinical Lab Expo is providing attendees with access to nearly 900 exhibitors across 200+ product categories to learn about the latest technologies, services, and solutions for the lab and beyond. Attendees can visit the electronic billboard outside the Expo Hall entrance to learn about innovative new products and services. They will have the opportunity to interact with the showcase to obtain detailed product and service information. Attendees can also find out about new diagnostic breakthroughs and critical lab medicine developments in the Exhibit Hall Theaters, which are conveniently located on the Expo show floor.

Several changes have impacted laboratory medicine that is being reflected in ADLM 2024 in three main ways: greater intersection between laboratory medicine disciplines; integration of automation into the clinical microbiology space; and the increased leveraging and utilization of data analytics, including large language model artificial intelligence (AI) and data visualization. Another topic in focus at the meeting is how the clinical laboratory community can respond to the evolving landscape of laboratory-developed tests, particularly in light of the recent Food and Drug Administration (FDA) final ruling that will go into effect in May 2027.

Additionally, ADLM 2024 is bringing together global leaders for an immersive experience featuring 5 plenaries, nearly 70 scientific sessions, more than 170 roundtables, and a showcase of over 700 posters, offering something for everyone in laboratory medicine. Each day, Sunday – Thursday, the conference begins with a thought-provoking Plenary delivered as a keynote lecture by a world-renowned expert. Plenaries will address timely topics applicable to all laboratorians and span the breadth of research and medicine. Scientific Sessions represent the core of ADLM 2024 with nearly 70 sessions taking place from Monday – Thursday. Scientific Sessions present the latest scientific information on all aspects of laboratory medicine and include a variety of education formats, presentation styles, and audience engagements. Scientific Sessions also include specially developed and invited sessions from ADLM collaborations and divisions.

Roundtables are special ticketed sessions that take place from Monday – Wednesday as 1-hour interactive small group discussions with up to 10 participants. These small groups allow for a unique and highly engaging experience where participants get direct interaction with the presenter and opportunities to both learn and ask questions. Topics range across the spectrum of laboratory medicine and focus on practical skills and case examples. ADLM's Poster Hall provides a wide collection of 700+ poster presentations that take place on Tuesday and Wednesday as an open-access hall in the ADLM Clinical Lab Expo. Topics span the full breadth of laboratory medicine and often represent the latest in cutting-edge research. The ADLM Poster Hall is a unique opportunity to directly connect with poster presenters at their posters during unopposed presenter discussion periods. ADLM 2024 is also home to specially developed sessions and competitions. At a special session of ADLM’s Disruptive Technology Award Competition held in the plenary hall, three diagnostic developers are presenting data on their innovative technologies. A panel of expert judges will be evaluating all presented testing solutions based on feasibility and performance, and the audience will also vote for their favorite technology.
